WEEKLY UPDATE - Week 13
September 22, 2002

Hi! Well, it happened. Yes, it happened. This past Monday, September 16th, some time between 3 and 4pm, some lucky person decided to log on to www.savekaryn.com, and became the one MILLIONTH person to do so! YAY!!!! A MILLION PEOPLE!!!!

Anyway, it was a good week for me. Traffic to the website increased from the previous week to 78,000 hits. And the money I received also increased slightly as well. I received $460.33 from people! My debt is now down to about $3,500.

On the eBay front, a HORRIBLE thing happened to me this week. eBay suspended my account because they said I provide them with an inaccurate phone number. I had my number changed and forgot to change it with them, so they suspended my account until I sent them the new one. What a pain in the bootie! I can't believe they didn't even send me a warning email saying something like, "You have 12 hours to provide us with the correct phone number." It was an oversight. No, they just suspended it and cancelled all my auctions that were in progress. Anyway, I provided them with the correct info and the account is back up and running, but I still have to list some things for sale, and will do so on Monday. What a hassle...

What else, oh yeah. I am in People magazine this week. I got some email from people saying, "Why don't you let us know when you are going to be in the paper and stuff?" Well, I usually don't know when exactly I am going to be in the paper, and by the time someone sends me an email saying, "I read about you in this paper," it's usually too late. But magazines are different. So this week, I am in the People magazine with Sarah Michelle Gellar on the cover on page 145. You'll all be happy to know the story behind the outfit I'm wearing. I bought the outfit for the photo shoot because I had nothing to wear, left the tags on (they were tucked up in the sleeve) and then returned it when I was done. See? I spent NO money, and looked cute! Before you all go thinking I'm a bad person, that's what stylists do. They buy clothes, leave the tags on, let the people wear them, and then return them. I was only in the outfit for like an hour - tops.

Okay, before I go, there is one more thing. I created a new page in the website called "Karyn Saves You". My idea is to "pass the buck" so to say with regards to the website. When my debt is paid off, which should hopefully be soon, I'd like to pass it to someone else so people can help them. See!!?? It'll be fun! People can continue to help people! So to all the people who email saying, "Can I be next?" please go to that page for info on how you CAN be next.

So, 'til next week, thanks to everyone who's visited my website and helped me get over one million hits. Thanks to everyone who's visited the website and sent me money. Thanks to everyone who's bought my stuff on eBay. Thanks to everyone who's sent me words of encouragement. NO THANKS to the mean people who have sent me nasty messages. I am getting so close to my goal that I am getting emotional here... I have to go now! Bye!

XOXO!

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 12
September 15, 2002

Hello Hello! Welcome to the 3 month anniversary of Save Karyn! Yippee!! This week I had over 60,000 vistors to the website! Cool. And I'm getting closer and closer to my goal of being debt free! I received $426 from nice folks like you. It's definitely a bit slower than previous weeks, but I have been laying low and haven't done much press. I think I may jump back on the radio band wagon this week to help bring her home!

In eBay news, last week's "Big Ticket Item", a nice pair of Burberry sunglasses, has 10 hours left in the auction and is already fetching over $70. Yay! Check out this week's "Big Ticket Item", a nice grey woman's wool/angora Anne Klein winter coat. I paid over $650 for it, and it can be yours if you are the highest bidder!

So, this week I went to my mail box and discovered something so cool... a subscription to Vogue! I called Vogue and said, "Why do I have a subscription? I didn't sign up for a subscription." And Vogue told me that a nice girl named Nicole gave it to me as a gift. So THANK YOU NICOLE! Nicole obviously knows how important it is for a twenty-somethng girl to read Vogue.

Another cool thing happened too! Some guy said he'd pay me $10 to draw a picture of a moneky. Yup! If I draw a picture of a monkey and send it to him he's going to pay me $10. He already sent me $5, and I get the other $5 when I send back the picture.

So I'm getting really close to reaching my goal, so please send me a dollar if you can! So close! I can smell it, I can see it... debt free... oh what a joy it will be... when I am debt free!

XOXO

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 11
September 8, 2002

Bonjour! Wassup? Welcome to Week 11's update! It was a slower week here at savekaryn. 71,000 people visited the website. That's still okay though. On the money front, I collected $606 through PayPal and the PO Box. I also collected over $300 in eBay sales. Check out this week's "Big Ticket Item," a cool pair of Burberry sunglasses I forgot I had. NEATO!

The cool thing is that I'm down to owing $5,000! Oh my goodness! Never in a million years did I think this would happen! And I'm SO CLOSE to getting a million hits on the website! So visit frequently and tell your friends.

This week was a tough one. The Daily mE-Mail page hit its limit and I had to create a second page for spillover. I moved some of the lamer mE-Mails there and left what I thought were the good ones on the main page. So I'm so sorry for not updating it, but I had a problem adding the additional page. Also, the server went down ALL DAY on Monday, so the website wasn't accessible. SUCKS.

Before I go, let me just say that I think it's sad that so many people in this world are so pessimistic and untrusting. I receive a lot of emails from people saying, "You are a scam" and what have you. Once again, no I am not a scam. Yes, I am for real. And yes, I really owed over $20,000 when I started this website. As for me, I am glad that I am a trusting person. I would rather trust someone and be taken, than not trust people right off the bat. I am sorry that some people look at life through negative eyes. Open them up! Know that you might always stumble upon a bad person now and then... but don't let that discourage you from believing in people!

So, to all the people who have trusted me and given me a dollar, Thank you!

'Til next week... Kiss yer mama, hug yer daddy, tell yer kids that you are proud. Tell yer sister she's your idol and tell yer brother he's a stud... Pet yer pets, be nice to your neighbors, and don't forget to love yourself too!

XOXO

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 10
September 1, 2002

Cheers everyone! I'm sitting at home right now drinking a tall frosty from the fridge! Nummy! It is my roommate's beer, and we are celebrating Labor Day. It was another fine week at savekaryn.com. I received 150,898 hits on the website! And I received $1,146 in cash from nice people like you through PayPal and the PO Box. I also collected $605 in eBay sales. I'm running low on "Big Ticket Items" to list this week. But tonight I am going to clean out my closet, so look for some good stuff tomorrow...

So something really, really strange happened this week. In my Daily mE-Mail dated August 22nd, I raised the question: "Where is Axl Rose?" I was just wondering where he's been hiding. I'm not like a huge Guns N' Roses fan or anything, but I haven't heard a peep from him since the early 90s. So since then I have received a lot of emails from people saying, "Axl Rose is in Sherman Oaks," and "Axl Rose is in Hong Kong." Axl Rose is here, Axl Rose is there, Axl Rose is everyhere. It was actually quite funny. So then, I'm sitting at home a couple of nights ago watching the MTV Music Video Awards, and low and behold... Axl Rose and Guns N' Roses performs at the end.

Am I psychic? Or do you think Axl reads the website and saw that people's interest in him was piqued, and therefore decided to make an appearance? Okay, maybe not... But still, how weird is that? I will now always feel connected to Axl Rose.

People make comebacks in life. Axl made his this past week, and I think he did a fine job. He's not the same person that he once was, but life will do that to you. I am going to give Axl that second chance.

I am kind of making my comeback in life too. Sure I screwed up, but I am now trying to become the fiscally responsible person I once was (or wished I was!) And I, too, deserve a second chance!

So 'til next week, Rock on Axl! I'm rooting for you! XOXO

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 9
August 25, 2002

Aloha! Welcome everyone! So, this week the website received 151,202 hits! The grand tally of website hits is now over 700,000! Wow! If you tell all your friends and email them the link, then maybe the site will get over a million hits soon!

On the money front, my debt is shrinking faster than you can say faster. This week, I received $1,884.80 through PayPal and the PO Box. I also received $537.82 from the eBay sales. My favorite brown BCBG purse snagged a cool $107. I hope they enjoy it and much as I did. Look for this week's "Big Ticket Item," another BCBG purse. But this time it is black. It is super cute! It's kind of like a thin version of the bowling bags that everyone has. Bid away! I'm running out of "Big Ticket Items." I have my one big Gucci purse left, but I use it every day! And it's kind of beat up. But maybe it will end up as next week's "Big Ticket Item." Check back and see...

This week was really busy! I updated my "Karyn Thanks" page, and that took like 5 or 6 hours. Ouch! So check it out. Also, I have been busy paying off my bills. Four of the cards are completely gone! Yay! Zero balance! And cancelled! I feel so good! It's truly amazing.

So, I have two left. One of them is American Express, and the other one is a Visa. They total about $8,000. Check my Grand Debt Tally Page for the exact total. PLEASE DON'T FAIL ME NOW! I'm getting closer, so send a buck if you can!

You know, the cat really made out like a bandit himself this week. He received 4 huge bags of science diet cat food, a really cool toy with a ball and catnip (he wants me to tell you he loves the nip), and some hairball remedy stuff. He's gonna eat like a king for life! And keep the food down!

So the cat wanted me to send his gratitude to you and say goodbye on this note: Kiss your kitty, kiss your doggie, and listen to the birdies chirp outside. Feed them often, rub their bellies, and don't leave them out in the cold.

'Til next week...
XOXO

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 8
August 18, 2002

Greetings! Welcome to the two month anniversary of my low-budget website! Every week just gets better and better! This week I had a whopping 204,097 hits on the site! And I received $2,630.84 from PayPal and through the PO Box. I also made $682.46 from my eBay sales! My favorite brown leather fringed purse went for $107 on eBay. I am tearing up as I send it off... I just listed a bunch of new items on eBay, so please check them out. This week's "Big Ticket Item" is a pair of unworn Prada slingbacks. They are ivory and gold and really purdy.

Also, I got three gift baskets this week from nice people, and all sorts of other cool stuff! Thank you thank you! People are so nice. Also a man named Wayne Roache bought 3 domain names savekaryn.net, savekaryn.org, and savekaryn.us, so mean people wouldn't buy them and start anti-karyn sites!

So I got this email this week from a guy who said this: "Why on earth would people send money to a stranger without getting some sort of payback? Please enlighten me."

Okay dude, here's your enlightenment... What I have to say is ewwwww.... I'm glad I'm not as pessimistic as you! Here's a story...

Today I gave two stamps to some random guy at the post office because the line was too long and he didn't want to wait. I was standing there with a whole book of stamps in my hand and he asked me if he could have two and I said sure. He offered me money and I said, "Don't worry." It was two stamps, you know? He smiled and said, "Oh you made my day." And I said, "I'm glad to have made your day." I gave him something for nothing, and got something in return. It wasn't money, but it was the satisfaction that I helped him out. He left with a smile and so did I.

So to all you people who gave me money, "You made my day." I am smiling, just like the guy at the post office. And just by the letters and emails that I've received from you, I bet you are smiling too. I hope it made you feel good like I felt good when I gave that guy two stamps. So, that's what you get Mr. Pessimistic. Hopefully you are enlightened.

You shouldn't do things in life for the sole purpose of getting things back. You should do them because you want to make this world a better place. And what you SHOULD get back is a positive feeling because you've helped someone out. To me, that is satisfaction and payback enough.

I know I've said it once, and I'll say it again. If my website works, and I get my debt paid off, I will SO give back to the community. I will be so indebted to everyone for making my life easier by taking the burden of debt off my shoulders. And I won't do it because it's what I'm supposed to do, but because it's what I WANT to do. When people help you, you feel compelled to help other people. Maybe after I gave that guy two stamps today he went out and gave someone bus fare, or gave someone change at the grocery store. Or maybe he just took that smile of his and smiled at everyone on his way home! I know I did... That's what you get back, and that's better than just about anything.

XOXO

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 7
August 11, 2002

Holy smokes! Another doozey of a week! I had 146,994 hits on the website this week! CooCooCaChoo! And I received $1,391.73 from nice people like you! On the email front, I've received 1000s. Things are looking up! Not as many mean ones this week! So this is my plan: Trash the mean ones. It's not worth my time to read them or reply. And you people should do something more constructive with your time anyway. Send "thank yous" to the people that give me a dollar. (Always got to say thank you...) And save the nice ones with the plan of replying to every one of them soon, just please give me a bit of time.

I also made $189.66 from my eBay sales. Yipee! Don't forget to check out this week's eBay "Big Ticket Item", a brown leather BCBG purse with fringe. I bought it last season at Bloomies for about $200. I seriously am very sad to be parting with this great, great purse. I have memories with this purse. Dates and stuff. You know... It's not as easy as it looks. It's like my old Homecoming and Prom dresses, I still have every one of them.

Anyway, I've been asked this question a lot this week... If you could do it all again, would you? The obvious answer is "No. If I could turn back time, I would never run up that debt again." But I don't feel that way. I am a person that has to learn from my mistakes. You can't tell me somehting is bad, I need to experience it on my own and have it be bad to me. I need to make mistakes to learn. I have always been that way. It's who I am.

I lived a great, fun life being frivolous. I have memories, just like this purse, that I will have forever. So when I part with things like this, I need to remember and distinguish that I'm not parting with the memory, but with the purse. There's a big difference.

So, this week, make mistakes, learn your lesson, learn how to live life YOUR way. You'll come out okay in the end. I have faith...

XOXO

PS - The cat hurt his paw but he's okay now. I had to wrap it in a warm compress for a few days. He's tough. He wanted to let everyone know...

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 6
August 5, 2002

Greetings! Yikes what a week! First off, 92,518 people visited the site this week! Total hits since the site went up is over 200,000! Yowza! I didn't think anyone would come to my site. I also got close to a million (exaggeration) e-mails. I'm trying to respond to all, but it's near impossible.

On the money front, I received $1,352.98 from PayPal and through the PO Box. People rock for sure! I also collected about $286.31 from eBay sales. Pretty cool! Don't forget to check out this week's "Big Ticket Item." It's a lovely green silk Cynthia Rowley dress that I purchased last season at Bergdorf Goodman. I actually wore it over, yes OVER, a pair of jeans. Very cool look.

I now have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I am back to work as of Monday! Yay! The bad news is that Claire, my trustly laptop, passed away. Her organs (the contents of the hard drive) were saved however, and donated to a new computer, which I have yet to name. And no, I did NOT buy the new computer. How nice is this: I told my neighbors about the website and Claire's passing, and they bought me a new computer, to be paid back later. People helping people. A computer is an important part of life, and one should not be without one. I keep getting emails from people that are like, "Duh, sell your laptop to pay off your bills!" I'd rather sell my couch to be honest. A computer is a necessary part of being a human in today's society. I cannot live without one. It's kind of like undereye cream. It's something that everyone needs.

I got so many emails this week, my inbox nearly ran out of room! Like always, some were nice, some were mean. Thank you to all the nice people out there! And to the mean people... I've said it before and I'm going to say it again. I know there are a lot of other people who need money more than me. I'm not a selfish idiot unaware of human suffering. I may be frivolous and have a shopping obsession, but I'm not blind to the world's problems. And if you are offended by what I am doing, then by all means, go to a different website, please. I'm sorry that I don't have some sob story to justify my debt, but I'm not going to make something up to somehow justify me asking for your help. And if shopping is the worse thing that I did, then lighten up. I wasn't out killing people, robbing people, selling drugs, etc. I just bought too many shoes. That's it. I like to look pretty.

You know, there are all sorts of people out there. And everyone has a story. This is mine. People do what they need to do in life to get by. I try not to pass judgement. And you shouldn't either. People are who they are. It's where they came from. It's what they know.

So this week, don't be so judgemental towards others. Look at them in the eye, see their soul, and accept who they are. That's what makes this world a GREAT place. And learn YOUR story. Pick a mantra, say it aloud! My name is Karyn and I like to shop! Ahhh.... I feel better already... Peace.

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 5
July 28, 2002

Hi everyone! Did you send a dollar yet? Try to if you can! This week I received 40,493 hits on the website. Not bad. And I got almost 1,000 emails! I've been swamped at work and will try to answer them this week...

On the money front, I received $617.51 through PayPal and the PO Box, and $156 from my eBay sales. Last week's "Big Ticket Item," a Burberry purse, went for $58! I'm on my way to living a debt-free life! Don't forget to check out this week's "Big Ticket Item" on eBay, a pair of authentic Gucci sunglasses!

On to other things... So last night, Claire, my trusty laptop computer, decided to go kaput. I have no idea why. I became really upset, because Claire is an important part of keeping this website up-to-date. She has been acting weird lately...

So I found a computer fix-it guy named Steve, and right now, as I type this on my roommate's laptop, Steve is in the process of performing open-hardware surgery on Claire. So please remember to keep Claire in your thoughts and prayers this week. Hopefully she'll be up and running soon.

You know I've heard the saying "Things happen for a reason" before, and today as I dropped Claire off at Steve's I think I know why Claire went kaput.

While at Steve's, I met his cousin, a woman in her 50s. We talked for a good two hours, and couldn't be more different. She has been married, is now seperated, has two kids, etc. We got to talking and I told her about the website and why Claire is so important to me right now.

The woman proceeded to tell me that she too has debt. At one point she said she owed $35,000 to about 20 credit card companies. She too joined a credit counseling service, and it's actually the same one that I belong too. She said now that her children are grown, she wants to go back to school, but feels like she can't get on with her life until her debt is paid off. Debt has paralzed her and is preventing her from moving forward and that is bad.

I think if I take anything away from this website ASIDE from the money, I hope that it's the understanding that we all make mistakes in life. Some mistakes are big, some are little, but no matter the size, they can paralyze your life, make you feel not worthy, and can stop you from living. I'm not going to let my mistakes do that to me. There comes a point when you need to forgive yourself from the stupid mistakes that you make, and today with the help of that woman, I forgave myself. I think Claire went kaput because I needed that woman, and she needed me. And hopefully, now that she's done her job, she'll be up and running tomorrow.

So 'til next week, forgive someone who did you wrong, apologize to someone you did wrong, and quit being so hard on yourself for doing yourself wrong. Peace.

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 4
July 21, 2002

Hello everyone! I got 44,585 hits on my website this week! Yay! Again, if all the visitors gave me just $1, I would have been paid off by like Wednesday!

On the cash front, I received $455.95 from PayPal and through the mail! I went to my PO Box on Saturday and my eyes almost fell out of my head! It was filled with letters and dollars! Someone even sent me a mix tape for my listening pleasure! Yowza!

On the eBay front, my Burberry bag sold for $58. That lucky winner got a FINE bargain! That was one heck of a purse... All together with the purse and the other crap I was sellin' I received about $214. Check out this week's "Big Ticket Item." A HOT pair of some HOT Gucci sunglasses that you can wear and look HOT! My debt is diminishing faster than in my wildest dreams!

From me to you, things have been really weird this last week. I really didn't think anyone would go to my low-budget website initially. I've gotten money, which is great because it is what I asked for. But more than that, I've gotten letters and emails from people who have been, or are currently in the same situation as me.

Debt sucks for sure. It makes you feel bad about yourself because it's an idiotic thing to do, and you know that you are the one responsible for doing it. Whether it be lack of self-control, or an emergency that landed you in debt, it's embarassing. For me, the most embarassing part of this ordeal isn't the fact that I'm asking you to give me a dollar- heck, that's the easy part! It was actually admitting that I owed the $20,000. I felt like I was the only person in the world who could have done something this stupid. But I AM NOT ALONE. And to all the people who emailed me and are in the same situation, YOU ARE NOT ALONE either!

And one more thing, you know what's amazing? All of these people that gave me a dollar... they don't know me. They just decided to help out some anonymous girl on the internet who maybe made them laugh for a few minutes. Thank you! I love this world because people like you exist in it. It makes all the badness go away, even if for just one moment...

So until next week... peace!

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 3
July, 14, 2002

Holy smokes! This week I got 21,932 hits on my website! Damn, I gotta look into some advertisers... Now if all of those visitors gave me a dollar, my debt would be paid off!

So, I sold my Prada Mary Janes on eBay for $100! And I sold me rhinestone belt that I HAD TO HAVE last season for $50! While it's great that I sold all these items, I only received $2.74 from the eBay Sales. Most of the Buyers are paying this week. So check back next week for an update. This week's "Big Ticket Item" is a lovely wool Burberry purse. It's a very bohemian style Burberry, and goes well with Birkenstocks, jeans and a t-shirt.

On the cash front, I got $132.90 through PayPal! The cool thing about paying me through paypal, is that I can pay my Discover Bill directly through the site, so every penny I get goes toward that bill. And it's a big one... trust me.

Also, please check out the new section called "The Daily mE-Mail". There I'll share with you some of the e-mails that I've received. Ooh! I almost forgot, I checked in at the PMS study and have to keep a diary for one month to see if I'll be accepted.

So anyway, here's the deal. I got hundreds of e-mails from people - half were nice, half were mean. I got a lot of "You go girl, I can feel your pain" e-mails, and also got my share of "You are panhandling, You are the devil, How dare you" e-mails. I also got one or two threats. That's really not necessary. So, I changed a few details about me to stay safe!

My deal is this: If you don't like what I'm doing, don't send me a buck and don't go back to the website. And will you do yourself a favor and lighten up? Chill out. It's a fun campy website! Get a laugh if you can, life is too short to take everything so seriously. And sometimes the only way to get through a difficult situation is to laugh at it. So that's what I'm doing. I've made a lot of my mistakes in my life, debt being one of them (I never claimed to be an angel) - but I'm laughing at myself now in hopes of improving my future!

So, send me a buck if you can. And if you can't - no big deal. I'm asking, not demanding. And of course, give me a buck only AFTER giving to the favorite charity of your choice. I realize that my problems aren't as serious as a lot of others. I may be silly and frivolous, but I'm not a complete selfish idiot immune to the knowing that a lot of others need more help than me.

So, say hello to a stranger this week, smile to your bus driver, be nice to your doormen (if you have them), and take in the sunshine! Life is too short for anything less. :)

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 2
July 7, 2002

Hello Everyone! Once again, thanks for visiting my website! This week alone, I got 341 hits! That's double the hits from the previous week! Now if all of those people would just send me a dollar... I'd be RICH! Seriously though, I did receive $125!

Here's an update: I am going tomorrow morning to get my "diary" for the PMS study I called about. I have to keep track of my moods for two months, and if they like what I write, they accept me to the study and I get $500! Also, my Gucci sunglasses went for $50 on eBay! Check out this week's Big Ticket Item, a pair of red and pink Prada pumps! Very cute! A great addition to any fun tulle skirt!

Since I had no money to go away for the Fourth of July, I stayed in Brooklyn. I used my UNLIMITED PASS subway card to go to Manhattan, and walked around and thought about life. It wasn't as easy as it sounds. Let's just be honest here: Manhattan is really just one big store. Everywhere you go, someone is trying to sell you something... a purse, some sunglasses, clothes, socks, all sorts of things. But I did not give in. I stayed my course and came home without any bags! And you know what? I'm still standing today. It may have been rough to not buy anything at the time, but today I realize that I'm gonna be okay if I don't have the latest thing!

So there goes. Peace.

WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 1
June 30, 2002

Hello! How is it going? Did you send me $1? Well, my first official week up on the web was a good one. I put one ad up on Craigslist, put the web address on my one eBay listing, and got 174 hits on my website! Cool!

I made $6. Not bad... Some people said they were mailing me money. I'm gonna look on Saturday. That'll be my official day to empty the mailbox. And let's see... I got about 30 e-mails. Got some sound advice from people...

One woman said that she too had a bad spending problem, but doesn't anymore. She offered me a free session of spiritual energy healing that will help me reduce anxiety and help bring insight into why I spent so much in the first place. Niiiiiiice... I'm so going to take her up on the offer. So see? I'm already coming out the price of one Reiki session ahead!

Not all my e-mails are as friendly. Some guy named Crumz is pretty pesimistic. I don't think he likes me very much. And since I'm such a PLEASER, my main priority is to WIN HIM OVER. Crumz wanted to know what he would he get from giving me money, and I told him not much. I offered the following analogy on why he should help me though...

"You know I'm still new to New York, and I don't know the city very well, but for some reason I'm the girl every tourist stops to ask for directions. And you know what? I give them to them. I don't stop and tell them that I'm too busy and they should get a map. I also don't tell them that if they had a map in the first place they wouldn't be lost. I help them, and they go on thier way and I am momentarily happy because I helped them.

You see, now, I am the girl who didn't get her map until she was lost! And now I'M the one stopping to ask for directions. But rather than asking for the complete directions from just one person, I'm taking it one road at a time and asking which way I should go when I get to the next corner... I'm just looking for a little help from a lot of people, rather than a lot of help from one person."

I know what I just told you has nothing to do with answering Crumz' question, but I really liked the analogy.

On the eBay front, with one hour left in the auction, my Prada boots are going for $60. Also, check out my new weekly auction: A pair of authentic Gucci sunglasses!

Until next week, Peace.

WEEKLY UPDATE - FIRST DAY OF WEBSITE LAUNCH
June 23, 2002

Hello! Welcome to my first weekly update! I'll keep it brief... I have been busy launching my low-budget website and planning my marketing strategy. Each week I am going to auction off something that I just "had to have" on eBay. You can click on the "Buy Karyn's Stuff" tab at the left to get more information on that. This week's "Big Ticket Item" is a pair of rubber Prada boots that I got on sale at Neiman Marcus. I think I wore them once. Check 'em out! All the money I raise from the auctions will go towards paying off my debt! You see, I'm doing my part!

I have also created a section called "The Daily Buck". This section will be updated daily and will contain tidbits of information on what I did that day to save a buck or make a buck. You may greatly benefit from some of these things. Please accept these daily morsels as free tips to help you be thrifty like me!

So, check out the website, and let me know what you think. Click on the "Contact Karyn" link and send me an e-mail! Also, please help spread the word about savekaryn.com. Send website links to you friends, talk about me at bars (it wouldn't be the first time...), dream about me at night. Together we can make a difference!
